Your name can only change characters, but a thumbnail, banner or Discord server icon can use any font. This draws your text in a free look-alike typeface and saves a PNG. Anton, slanted: a free stand-in for the heavy condensed Burbank look.
Look
Unofficial look-alike, not the game’s own font or logo. Fonts: Anton, Black Ops One, Cinzel, Jersey 10 (SIL Open Font License).
What Epic lets you put in a display name
Your Fortnite name is your Epic Games display name. Epic’s help pages set it at 3 to 16 characters, and you can change it once every two weeks from the account page on epicgames.com. Epic rejects names that impersonate staff or contain offensive words, and its filter strips or blocks many decorative characters.
In practice, the styles that pass most often are ones that swap a few letters for look-alikes (small caps, faux-Greek, currency signs) plus one short symbol. Full maths-bold names usually fail the length check because every letter counts twice. When Epic refuses a name, remove the symbols first, then try a shorter base name.
The actual Fortnite font
Fortnite’s tall, condensed logo and menu type is Burbank Big Condensed, a commercial typeface from House Industries. It is not a Unicode style, so no generator can put it in your in-game name; your name is always drawn in the game’s own UI font. For thumbnails and edits, the closest free look-alikes are condensed grotesques in black weight, such as Anton:
