Symbols that survive in games
Emoji such as 🎮 or 👑 are drawn from a colour emoji font, and many games and name fields reject them or show them as boxes. The black-and-white symbols (★ ⚔ ♛ ꧁) are ordinary text characters, which is why they are the usual choice for in-game names. Of those, the ones from older Unicode blocks (stars, card suits, arrows, box lines) have the widest support; rarer ones like ꧁ ꧂ (from the Javanese script) look great on phones but can show as boxes in PC games.
Symbols also eat into length. Most count as one character, but emoji and some frames count as two, so check the counter in the builder before you paste. For styled letters to go between the frames, use the fancy text generator.
Clan tag ideas
- Short and bracketed: 【ACE】, 『NV』, ⟦GG⟧. Brackets keep the tag readable when squads list names side by side.
- One symbol, then the tag: ⚔ RVN, ☠ DSK. Easy to type again on another platform.
- Look-alike letters: ΛPΣX (faux-Greek) reads as APEX but stands out. Find more in the cyberpunk font styles.
- Keep it to 2–5 characters inside the brackets; many games cap clan tags at 4 or 5.
